I have served our country as a United States Marine and have over two decades of volunteering experience with the Person County Recreation Department, Roxboro Jaycees, and various veteran organizations. I also participated in the WatchDog Dad program at North End Elementary, mentoring children from single-parent homes. My family and I are proud members of Antioch Baptist Church.
In my business career, I excel at understanding client needs and collaborating with them to achieve optimal solutions. I am skilled in assessing technical requirements, evaluating project feasibility concerning costs, resources, timelines, and deliverables, and adhering to county and state guidelines, protocols, and regulations. I am adept at negotiating and working with multidisciplinary teams, managing staffing, overseeing multiple projects, providing detailed reports, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Like many, I have had a life of various experiences to include serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, to becoming a Supervisor for Brink Constructors. I manage a team of 21 to provide quality infrastructure services to Duke Energy. Some days are long, but it is a fulfilling position which provides me time with my family and friends.
My roots are here in Person County with some time spent on the east coast during my teenage years. I married the love of my life several years ago and we have 2 wonderful children. I also have 2 grown children who have made me very proud. I am fortunate to know my life is a good one and I am a cancer survivor. My decision to run for Person County Commissioner is based upon my love for this county, my friends and my family
During the past 18 months my thoughts have been about getting involved in this county and making it better for the generations to come. I realized it was time to get involved and give back to the community that has been so giving to me. We need to all work together to make certain Person County can provide for its citizens. Our quality of life is important, we know we have a beautiful county and yet almost 20% of our population lives within the poverty level. We need to break the cycle of poverty, plainly speaking we need new local industry and jobs. We cannot afford any more empty promises. It is time to roll up our sleeves and get to work.
